Stanly County Schools and North Stanly are very excited to begin offering IB courses slated for the Fall of 2020. The International Baccalaureate is a globally recognized educational model devoted to offering a rigorous, high-quality education. Students who participate in the IB programme excel in and out of the classroom through in-depth coursework, as well as an emphasis on giving back to the community to make the world a better place. Of the four available IB programmes of study, North Stanly will be offering the Diploma and Career-related programmes. What's Does It Mean to Be IB?
The IB's programmes are different from other curricula because they:
- encourage students of all ages to think critically and challenge assumptions
- develop independently of government and national systems, incorporating quality practice from research and our global community of schools
- encourage students of all ages to consider both local and global contexts
- develop multilingual students.
