North Stanly High School held its induction ceremony for National Honor Society on Sunday, March 24th. Twenty-three students were tapped for membership into National Honor Society.
Members were selected by members of the faculty at North Stanly for meeting high standards of scholastic achievement, service, leadership, and character.
The North Stanly High School chapter has been active since 1974. Each year the chapter sponsors several service projects for the school and community which in the last few years have included volunteering at the Public Library Book Sale, volunteering with Relay for Life, assisting at the Special Olympics, and serving as a part of the new Stanly County Teen Court.
Students inducted into the National Honor Society are: Emily Almond, Aly Argento, Savannah Burleson, Ashley Cody, Naethan De Los Reyes, Carlee Dixon, Summer Hinson, Elithe Hudson, Brinn Kimrey, Paige Lamp, Payton Landis, Colbie Lentz, Hope Lewallen, Nicole Lowder, Rhett Lowder, Lillian McRae, Kinley Morgan, Kong Xoua Moua, Mallory Russell, Kelly Smith, Ryan Thompson, Ethan Walters, and Eli Williams.
“We are very proud to recognize these outstanding members of our student body. National Honor Society and Beta Club members are chosen for and then expected to continue their exemplary conduct and outstanding achievement. We look forward to seeing the contributions they continue to make to the school and community,” said faculty advisers Andria Harris and Jared Speight.
