09/11 Announcements

Enrichment and remediation tutoring opportunities today are: A lunch-R-Social Studies and EC; B lunch-R-Science, E-Math. Gym is open.  Media center closed.


  • All student drivers must have purchased a parking pass and it must be placed in the bottom left hand corner of your windshield as you are sitting in the driver’s seat.  If you do not have your sticker properly affixed (not taped) you will receive a parking ticket and could lose your privilege to park on campus. All student drivers signed your application understanding this requirement.  

  • Any student interested in running for a position in Student Council should see Mrs. Mauldin in room 9 beginning Monday, September 9th to pick up an application. Applications will be accepted from September 9th-13th. The Student Council positions available for each class of Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors are: Class President, Class Vice President, Class Secretary, and Class Treasure.  If you would like to run for a Student Body Officer position, those include: Student Body President (which must be a Senior), Student Body Vice President (which must be a Junior), Student Body Secretary and Treasure (both must be a Sophomore).


  • Juniors. October 24th we will be traveling by train to the NC State Fair. The cost of the trip will be $75.00 with a deposit of $25.00 being due no later than September 13th. For more information or payment see Mr. Almond in room 42 of C building.


  • SkillsUSA first meeting today. All those interested, please come to Mr. Storms' room, Room 41, during B lunch. We will discuss Camp Dixie and officer elections.


  • Men’s Cross Country team finished 2nd only losing by 1 point.  Top runners were: Nicholas McClure-2nd, Koby Poole-3rd, Alex Huneycutt-4th. Team scores: Uwharrie Charter-38, NS-39, SS-55 and North Moore-118. Women’s Cross Country team finished 1st. Top runners were:  Lexi Goode- 3rd, Milena Hernandez-4th, Andi Billingsly-5th, Maci Holshouser-7th and Kathryn Carpenter-10th. Team scores were:  NS-29, North Moore-52, SS-80 and Uwharrie Charter-94

  • JV and Varsity Volleyball defeated North Moore last night, both in straight sets.

  • Men’s Soccer will travel to Uwharrie Charter for a game at 4:30.

  • Women’s Tennis will travel to Gray Stone for a match at 4:30.
